The New Muslim Library

The New Muslim Library is a series of short, practical books for one reader: the person who has recently become a Muslim, or is returning to the faith, and wants to build a life on it. Most introductions to Islam explain everything at once and equip you for nothing in particular. This series does the opposite. Each book takes a single subject — prayer, the Qur'an, Ramadan, zakah, Hajj, the life of the Prophet ﷺ, and more — to the depth that a first year, a first Ramadan, or a first pilgrimage actually requires, with tables, checklists, worked examples, and plain answers to the questions people are embarrassed to ask. Every title is written in the same voice: mainstream Sunni in scope, respectful of the schools and branches, honest about difficulty, and never preachy. Arabic is explained when it appears. Differences of scholarly opinion are named rather than hidden. Nothing assumes a Muslim household, a Muslim family, or a mosque within walking distance.

A Practical Companion to Belief, Prayer, and Everyday Life

Dr Yusef Ali

It explains what Muslims believe and why, walks you through the five pillars in enough detail to begin from these pages alone, and takes on the questions most introductions avoid: how to tell your family, what to do about the mortgage, how to handle the office party, what happens when you miss a week of prayers, and what to write down in case you die.

The New Muslim's Guide to the Angels: What Islam Teaches, What It Doesn't, and What It Changes (The New Muslim Library)

Yusef Ali

Muslims believe in angels. It is the second article of the creed, after belief in God himself. But most new Muslims arrive at it carrying a picture they never chose — cherubs, harps, fallen angels, a grandmother who "became an angel" — and nobody has told them which parts of what they hear are from the Qur'an, which from sound hadith, and which from a story someone told beautifully.

The New Muslim's Guide to Being Human: Dignity, Mercy, and Justice for Every Person

Yusef Ali

The Qur'an's first statement about humanity's worth is not conditional. It does not say We have honoured the believers. It says: We have honoured the children of Adam. Every chapter of this book grows out of that verse.

Raising Children in Islam: Faith, Family, and Parenting Techniques from Birth to Adulthood

Yusef Ali

It gives you the theology: the child is a trust, born already turned toward its Maker, needing not to be converted but protected. It gives you the map, in the milestones the Prophet ﷺ himself set — the adhan whispered at birth, the command to pray at seven, the seriousness at ten, the arrival of responsibility — carried through to the first fast, the first phone, adolescence, and the first home of their own.
